Recently, I awoke from a spiritual warfare dream to pray and speak the name of Jesus and the Holy Spirit confronted me with this thought:
Satan is trying to keep as many asleep as he can, for as long as he can with all his false pleasures and perversities. These sleepers will awaken at the End of the Age to the full wickedness and depravity of evil itself and realize they have no power against it. The devil’s tangled webs have wrapped up their own souls - everything they have built is a complete house of cards, maybe it looks impressive, but there is no power or substance to it.
These are dark days we are living in... but believe me, it is going to get a whole lot more sinister before Jesus splits the sky. Many are sleeping and have not made the most important preparations for the End Times. Many Christians today are comfortably addicted to entertainment and pleasure and maybe do not even know it. These believers will be confronted with the terrifying reality that they have squandered these gifts they have been given: time, hours, health, peace, resources, friendships, freedom and have wasted all of it instead of using it to buy oil for their lamps.
The devil is content to have every version of Gods holy, precious Word at your fingertips and yet you pour your energy, time and fascination into any one of a multitude of other meaningless nothings - just flits of code strung together with flashing lights and blinking buttons- invented denominations of “worth”… “likes”, “followers”, “subscribers”, “levels”, “streaks”, “gems”… all utterly empty and worthless. Broken cisterns that do not satisfy… they will be utterly destroyed in a day - why not work for something that never will pass away!? True riches and rewards that satisfy beyond any need or desire you knew you had.
There is rampant deception throughout the body of Christ thinking we can touch & handle these things without them deadening our soul. We are dead wrong.
Let me dash the poetry and speak plainly for a moment... in view of the entirety of Church History and Biblical History, the low-standard permissiveness and overall consumption of entertainment and self-indulgent frivolity of the Church body today is absolutely breathtaking. Our time, money, fascination, conversation, and screen time stats scream this sleepy approach to our Lord and it's time to Wake Up and make a change.
This parable of the ten virgins found in Matthew 25, directly correlates to the end times. Jesus shares this parable directly after sharing in Matthew 24 the extensive list “signs” referring to the end of the age.
Wake up, beloved! The Lord is slow to anger, rich in mercy, but the birth pains are increasing in their intensity and are getting closer together. As any mother knows, this means the baby is coming.
Are you sleeping? Are you intoxicated with worldly drink? Are you satisfied by other lovers? Have you forgotten your First Love?
Wake UP! Clean your house and put it in order.
You cannot afford to live the American dream of delusion.
There is no time to mindlessly scroll. Are you a glutton of entertainment? Are you feeding your soul on the “junk food” of absolute trash laced with the lies and spirit of the age? Who are you allowing to wash your mind over in thoughts and words - heaven or hell? The middle ground, gray area is rapidly disappearing and you need to jump to one side or the other… CHOOSE JESUS!
I will tell you this… the longing for adventure, pleasure, fascination and beauty is God-given and I promise you, He satisfies more deeply and purely than any competitor. True, choosing Him is more costly because you have to sell ALL YOU HAVE to gain Him, but I promise you, He is WORTH IT!!!
“I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.” Revelation 3:18-19
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21
